A new Actos lawsuit has been filed in a district court in New York.

The lawsuit adds to the great deal of claims surfacing in the wake of the now-established link between Actos and its serious side effects. Actos has been shown to increase a patient’s risk of bladder cancer by more than 80%.

This particular lawsuit follows the same pattern of allegations as similar suits. It alleges that Actos’ manufacturer, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, did not warn doctors or patients of the severe health risks of taking the drug. The company publicly refused any knowledge of these risks, while internal correspondence shows that the company was seemingly well aware of them.
