A new study by lead by a professor at the University of Nottingham have found a link between diabetes medications such as Actos and a vision problem called macular edema. The researchers’ findings have been published online in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
A macular edema occurs when a part of the eye called the macula swells. When this happens, the sharpness of a person’s vision when looking ahead is affected, leading to blurry vision.
The study found that taking diabetes medications such as Actos can increase a person’s absolute risk of developing macular edema by up to one percent.
Studies have unveiled increasingly dangerous complications associated with Actos. If you have taken Actos and are suffering from its side effects, it may be time to take action. Contact the Actos lawsuit attorneys of Williams Kherkher at 800-641-9810 for more information.
