Takeda Pharmaceutical, the largest drug manufacturer in Asia, has admitted that its flagship Type 2 diabetes drug, Actos, has a risk of causing bladder cancer. Actos and other pioglitazone-containing drugs can have several serious and potentially fatal side effects.
The company wrote a letter to doctors warning them of the risks that are associated with the drug, citing multiple studies in which patients who took pioglitazone drugs had significantly greater risks of developing bladder cancer than people who were taking placebos.
This warning comes at a crucial time for the company, as many people are beginning to file lawsuits against it as they develop bladder cancer.
If you have taken Actos and have been diagnosed with bladder cancer, the Actos lawsuit attorneys of Williams Kherkher can help you seek compensation for your medical costs. Contact us at 800-641-9810 to learn more about your legal options.
