Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. is currently looking to pass a new drug, TAK-875 and it is in its third and final stage of testing at this time. Takeda is hoping that this new drug will replace the sales from Actos, the Type 2 diabetes medication.
In the study done on TAK-875, the drug worked to reduce the blood sugar level by nearly 48 percent when they used the prescription for 12 weeks. The Japan-based company is hoping that this new drug’s sales will replace those from Actos because it is going to lose its patent at the end of the year.
TAK-875 is designed to help treat those who suffer from Type 2 diabetes and nearly 90 percent of the 285 million people that have this condition can use TAK-875 to treat it. Researchers from the University of Michigan Medical School have stated that new treatment for Type 2 diabetes is needed because the number of cases are expected to rise.
Actos has recently been linked to the development of bladder cancer when used for over a year, if this has happened to you or a loved one. Contact the Actos lawsuit lawyers of Williams Kherkher by calling 800-641-9810 today.
