A federal judge is moving quickly on the litigation for the hundreds of lawsuits that claim that a popular diabetes drug caused patients to develop bladder cancer.
Those who have already filed their lawsuits are getting closer and closer to be heard in court, but lawyers are still helping those that are just coming forward with side effect claims. The federal judge has now issued an order for the pretrial status on the drug, Actos, be set for March 22.
The judge is now overseeing 150 cases and is expecting that thousands more will be filed before the pretrial hearing. The FDA announced in July 2011 that the use of Actos for over a year could result in a heightened risk of developing bladder cancer.
If you or a loved one used Actos in order to treat your diabetic condition without knowing the risks and now have been diagnosed with bladder cancer, you need representation on your side that help you through this legal process step by step.
